Thank you everyone! I am going to visit family in Los Angeles and San Francisco, California. And we'll be driving from LA to SF by car so it will be nice to do a bit of on-the-ground travelling.
I hope to have time for updating my blog, but if not, I'm sure I'll have plenty to say when I get back!
Hey, hope you have a great time staying with your family in the US. I wont forget my stay in EF NY in my whole life. Due to the fact that there is no possibility to sent you a message I put my question in my comment :-) I read you quit teaching at the moment, what a loss! Really!! What kind of shop are you going to open. I guess kind of food or art stuff. That would be a good reason to come back to NZ very soon. I hope my plans for dezember come true! Best Regards from Hamburg Mike
Thank you for the very kind comments, Mike. Are you still writing your blog? I need to check that out. I'm not opening a shop, rather, I am writing. My focus is mainly travel writing and food writing, but I am also doing some academic textbook writing for learners of English. You can email anytime on threespoons(at)ymail.com .
For various reasons I've lived in 5 countries and travelled in quite a few in between. As such, most of my life is about exploring new ideas, discovering wonderful things and people, and food!I live in New Zealand, one of the most beautiful places on the planet, but my spiritual home is in Asia. This blog is simply my general ramblings to entertain my good friends, family, and myself. I am always happy to receive comments.
Enjoying my new space! See recent post for address.
what I'm reading now
Eat, Pray, Love Elizabeth Gilbert
I'm partly reading this because I feel like I should for some reason and partly because she's coming to the Auckland Reader's and Writer's Festival, which I'm getting involved in this year. But, I have to say I'm having a hard time getting in to it. Some parts are good and some parts are excruciating. I don't think I was the target audience.

Oh how exciting! Where will you be? Is it business or pleasure or a little of each?
I hope you have a very pleasant journey. Where are you heading for? How long will you be in the US? Safe journey!
Bon voyage! :)

Have a great time Marie!
We drove the PCH down from SF to LA last summer and it was a lovely ride especially around mist covered Monterey and Cambria.
